Runners of the Month - 2021-2022

Every 4-6 weeks or so the committee nominate one or two Runners of the Month - these are people who we feel have worked hard and improved in some way, whether that is by running their first 5K, coming back from injury or completing a longer event in an exceptional time. At the end of the year, at the club AGM, members have the opportunity to choose a male and female Runner of the Year by voting for the various Runners of the Month.

Ivana WilsonIvana Is a keen and talented runner who is committed to her marathon training while also being a successful competitor in a range of local races from the Cotswold Way Relay to being part of the winning ladies team at the Bugatti 10k. Whenever I see her she also always has a smile on her face!

Graeme StoppGraeme could be described as the man behind Forrest Wheeler’s success as Runner of the Month last time, as he was extremely supportive of Forrest’s training. Then last weekend he knocked out a 1:50 result in the Cheltenham Half, on his own behalf. Generous with his time and support, he’s a worthy Runner of the Month.

Thom StephensIt's time to announce our first Runners of the Month for well over a year.
First up, is Thom Stephens: The photo border reads "I'VE JUST CONQUERED THE 100 KM ALONG THE RIDGEWAY", which says it (almost) all but Thom is also a long-time member who is always supportive of others undertaking running challenges. His performance in Race to the Stones was exceptional and as always it was completed with his usual good humour and lack of ostentation. Congratulations Thom!

Forrest_WheelerOur second Runner of the Month is Forrest Wheeler. I feel I should have a photo of some terrible food pun to accompany this post, and I apologise that I can only find this photo of Forrest taking part in Cheltenham's half marathon this year. As well as making us laugh with his cooking tips Forrest has come back from life-threatening ill-health to run his first marathon this Spring. Great company and an all-round worthy winner of the RoTM accolade!
