Friendly event. Ideal for runners looking for their first half marathon experience. Many Almosts will competing so good support will be guaranteed. £21 entry, with proceeds to charity compares very favourably with certain other well-known 'half's.

Organiser's notes:

One single lap of beautiful forestry roads and trails, we have chip timing, water stations, experienced marshals, first aid cover, race village, on site car parking; all the things you need for a superb event.

This annual event is organised by The Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean and supported by the Forestry Commission. Proceeds are used to support charities, both locally and nationally.

We are very grateful for the involvement and support of a host of individual volunteers, together with number of local organisations who make this event successful; including the Forestry Commission, the Speech House Hotel, St John Ambulance, and the Forest of Dean Motor Club.

This year, the Forest of Dean Half Marathon is delighted to be associated with the Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity. This charity raises funds to make a real difference for the patients, their families and the staff who treat them and work at Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General Hospitals as well as the Stroud Maternity Unit
